Leadership

James De La Torre - President & CEO

After working 22 years as an insurance broker in the bay area, Jim decided to branch off from the corporate brokerages to start his own firm.  Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, Jim’s vision was to create an insurance brokerage that could center its business on helping people manage risk by putting clients’ interests first and providing exceptional client service, values that he feels have been forgotten in our industry.  Jim is extremely proud of his children who have all taken an interest in learning the insurance business and finds tremendous satisfaction in watching them grow professionally.

Jim enjoys spending quality time with his family and his new grandson.  He loves to cook, watch and play sports, hiking and biking.  Jim is active in supporting charitable organizations which help children.

Enrico Hernandez - CFO

Enrico (Rico) Hernandez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Stanford University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Arts in Private School Leadership from the University of San Francisco.  Rico has served as CFO and consultant for various non-profits.  He has also served on several non-profit boards. Rico is also currently an adjunct professor (accounting) in the School of Management at the University of San Francisco. Rico’s passions including learning French and Stanford football.

Ania Slonina - Senior VP of Operations

Ania Slonina, a 30 +year veteran of the employee benefits insurance industry, joined De La Torre & Associates in 2016 and currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Operations in addition to overseeing a book of business.  She is well versed in all lines of coverage and funding arrangements including self-funding and captive funded products.

Ania holds a Bachelor of Arts  in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Schiller University, Paris France.  She enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends and is also very active in Polish Community of the San Francisco Bay Area.  A native San Franciscan, Ania and her husband currently reside in Redwood City, California.

Eymard DeOcampo - Account Executive

Eymard De Ocampo has over 15 years of experience in the insurance brokerage industry.  Eymard is an Account Executive in the FedAdvantage program.  He successfully transitioned the program that included 14,000 members to a new carrier.  Eymard has a passion for educating and assisting members on their benefit plan.   He is also continuing to work as a sales Account Executive in the Employee Benefits Division of the Company.

Eymard has B.A. Degree in Communication from the University of California, San Diego.  He enjoys sports, movies, and traveling with his wife Cheryllyn and children Xavier and Julia.  Eymard is also a youth leader of the St. Timothy Parish youth ministry, Y.E.S (Youth Expressing Spirit) in San Mateo.

Daniel De La Torre - Account Executive

Daniel De La Torre has been with De La Torre and Associates Insurance Services, Inc. for over 4 years as an Account Manager.  Dan started working on federal benefits through the FedAdvantage program, and since has found a niche consulting with individuals on the benefits they have and helping them obtain the coverages they desire.  As a finance major from San Jose State University, he understands the importance of protecting the assets you have worked so hard to obtain.  He is an avid Disney fan, loves sports, spending time outdoors, and being with family and friends.  Dan and Colleen is are the proud parents of their son Jaxon and are excited for the new adventures about to unfold (little do they know).

Lisa De La Torre - Account Manager

Lisa De La Torre has grown up around the insurance industry.  Working for her father as a client service manager provided a valuable learning experience while in college.  Upon graduating San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Lisa decided to join De La Torre & Associates Insurance Services, Inc., full time to expand her knowledge of the full Employee Benefits spectrum.  She is now an Account Manager where she manages her own block of business.  She is also responsible for maintaining vendor relationships and serves as Corporate Secretary for the Firm.

Lisa enjoys traveling and is looking forward to planning her next trip to Europe.

Anthony De La Torre - Marketing

Tony De La Torre joined De La Torre & Associates Insurance Services, Inc. in the summer of 2015 working in IT and Marketing for the FedAdvantage brand.  With the passing of his insurance license test, Tony is becoming more engaged on the client services side of the business and working with Health and Welfare benefit plans. Tony has done keynote speaking for clients and their employees in the areas of wellness and fitness. Outside of work, Tony is studying Philosophy of Law at San Francisco State University, looking to go to Law School. In his free time, he enjoys racing bikes.

Jamie De La Torre - Marketing

Jamie De La Torre joined De La Torre & Associates Insurance Services, Inc. in 2016.  Jamie is a full time college student working her way through school and learning the family business.  She is pursuing her passion for graphic design & marketing.  Jamie is responsible for designing employee packets, flyers and brochures for both the FedAdvantage brand as well as the Employee Benefits division of the company.

Eddie Andres - Account Coordinator

Eddie began his journey with FedAdvantage in April 2018 as a contract employee in support of the Direct Solicitation campaign compiling lists of potential clients and became a permanent employee on July 1, 2018.  Eddie continues to work diligently on the Direct Solicitation campaign, and as a Support Agent and Schedule Coordinator for LiveChat, answering customer questions & providing valuable information on their coverage choices.  He assists his team members with contacting Human Resource departments of various federal agencies to coordinate participation in their open enrollment season and health fairs.  Eddie helps promote the FedAdvantage brand by visiting local association conventions to meet and greet potential customers, explain who FedAdvantage is and services we provide, as well as answer any questions that may arise.
